Cookie Policy

This page explains how Hearthwise uses cookies, what each type does, and how you can adjust your preferences at any time.

Last Updated: 7 May 2025

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as your preferred language or whether you have already been shown a notice — so the site works more smoothly on your next visit.

Cookies do not contain software or executable code. They are simply structured pieces of text read by your browser. You can review, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always active
Required

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They manage your cookie consent preference (stored in localStorage) and maintain basic session state. They cannot be disabled.

Duration: Session + persistent (consent record, no expiry until cleared)

Analytics Cookies

Optional

Used to understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are viewed, how long sessions last, and where traffic originates. This data is anonymised and processed by Google Analytics. It helps us improve the site's content and structure.

Duration: Up to 26 months (Google Analytics default)

Marketing Cookies

Optional

These cookies support measurement of advertising campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, and Microsoft Advertising. They allow us to understand whether an advertisement led to a website visit. No individual browsing profiles are built without your consent.

Duration: 30–90 days depending on platform

Preference Cookies

Optional

These cookies remember choices you have made on the site — such as display settings or region — so you do not need to reselect them on return visits.

Duration: 1 year

3. Session vs. Persistent Cookies

Session cookies are removed automatically when you close your browser. They hold no personal data beyond the active session.

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them manually. The durations listed in section 2 above apply.

4. Your Cookie Preferences

Toggle the categories below to update your preferences. Essential cookies are always active and cannot be changed. Use "Save Preferences" to record your choices.

Mobile browsers

On most mobile browsers, cookie controls are found in the browser's settings menu under Privacy or Site Data. The steps broadly mirror those for the desktop version of the same browser. On iOS, Safari settings are managed in the device's Settings app rather than within Safari itself.

6. Your Rights

You may withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the preference toggles in section 4 above. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing that took place before the withdrawal.

If you have questions about how cookies relate to your personal data rights, please refer to our Privacy Policy or contact us directly.
